Frequently Asked Questions

Advanced Practice Providers (APP) are Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who are licensed healthcare professionals. Our APPs have day-to-day independence to care for patients, plus long-term support from their Physician colleagues. All APPs work under the supervision of our Physicians.

Inpatient Stay

An inpatient stay is when you are admitted into the hospital to continue your medical treatment. This likely means you will remain in the hospital overnight and your length of stay will depend on your medical condition and treatment plan. During this time, our inpatient team of hospitalists, intensivists, PAs, and NPs will work alongside any other specialty Clinicians in the hospital to ensure your care is managed from start to finish.

A hospitalist is a board-certified Physician that focuses on the general medical care to patients who have been admitted into the hospital. You can think of them like your primary care Physician while you are under their care in the hospital as they will oversee your hospital stay and case management.

An Intensivist is a board-certified Physician with advanced training and experience in the care of complex and critically ill patients. Our Critical Care Clinicians will oversee your care while you are in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The time you are in the hospital will vary. The inpatient care team will be responsible for managing your hospital stay and treatment. You can address any questions or concerns with the team.
